Get To Know The Pack: Bridger

Spotted Dog Marketing - Bridger

My whole life I’ve loved animals, so much so, that I dreamt of becoming a veterinarian. To my dismay, I wasn’t as taken with the sciences as I thought, so here I am in marketing today.

Fast forward to 2018, my husband and I were finishing up our “Thank you” cards for our wedding guests and as any husband knows how to incentivize his wife, said, “If we get all our thank you cards done by X date, I’ll consider getting a puppy.” So, as the goal-oriented person I am, we did. And so, Bridger waddled his way into our lives.

His story isn’t a typical one. We adopted Bridger, originally named Boba Fett (more on the name Bridger below), from Coco’s Heart Dog Rescue, located in Somerset, WI. He was born in his foster family’s home on August 12th, 2018. His mother was pregnant with him and his siblings when she was rescued from a reservation in North Dakota.

Bridger was born the runt of the liter, with swimmers syndrome (an uncommon deformity of a puppy’s legs, typically the back, are splayed laterally resulting in the inability to walk or stand). Historically, puppies born with this deformity have been euthanized, and still are to this day. Thanks to Bridger’s foster family and intensive therapy covered by the incredible volunteers at Coco’s Heart Dog Rescue, he overcame swimmers syndrome at 10 weeks old.

He continued to develop his confidence and build muscle in his hind legs, but in no time, Bridger became one of the fastest and craziest dogs at the dog park. Today, you would never know he struggled with something so basic as standing or walking as a puppy, but thanks to the kindness of his foster family and the rescue, Bridger is the fun-loving and spirited dog he is today.

As Spotted Dog Marketing grows, our goal is to give 3% of revenue to Coco’s Heart Dog Rescue annually. They have done so much for our spotted dog, and our family and continually do so much for other dogs across the country; we would love nothing more than to give back to the amazing organization.

About Coco’s Heart Dog Rescue

Located in Somerset, WI, formerly downtown Hudson, its mission is; “a primarily volunteer-driven organization that welcomes dogs to rescue from unfortunate situations and houses them in volunteer foster homes while preparing them for adoption placement. We focus on evaluating each dog's needs, providing high-quality veterinary care, and working towards finding them a lifelong match with an adoption placement. We strive to educate our community on the importance of rescue, our specific rescue efforts, responsible pet ownership, and the difference each person can make in the lives of dogs in need.”

Everyone we worked with at Coco’s was incredibly caring, knowledgeable, and want what was best for the dog and the family adopting. Make sure to check them out!

So, Bridger.

Our doggo’s name comes from the legendary American pioneer of the west, James Felix “Jim” Bridger. A rough and tumble western expert, Jim Bridger has many beautiful landscapes named after him, including; Bridger Mountain range, Bridger Pass, and Bridger Trail, just to name a few.

My husband and I always knew we would name our first pup Bridger after our favorite place in the world, Bridger Mountain range and Bridger Bowl Ski Area, located right outside Bozeman, MT. And as you may have guessed, we all enjoy hiking and playing in the snow.

Bridger (the spotted dog) loves hiking, chewing on sticks, eating just about anything, running, playing, alerting us of packages, and skijoring! He is quite the adventurer himself; anyone who has met him can attest to that!

He has now moved up in his professional career as CMO (Cheif Motivation Officer) at Spotted Dog Marketing and is enjoying every minute.

If you are interested in meeting our team e.i., myself (Isabelle) or Bridger, we would love to meet you too! Contact us to schedule a meeting, pick our brains or tell us about your current marketing challenges; we don’t bite 😉
